I hope that by now I have convinced you that your pain is about more than your neck. It involves every part of you which has been protecting your neck. Building confidence, increasing neuromuscular integration and decreasing the protective mechanisims will be much more effective at this stage. When we have been in pain for awhile, our muscles and joints can forget how to work together to provide efficient and comfortable movement. Providing this education to the foundational structures of your upper body will relieve pain and tension and start to unravel the protection mechanisims.
