Wow! Five weeks in! I hope you are proud of yourself, this is a big accomplishment. Now is not the time to slow down either. Many students are feeling a little better at this point, but you know that the types of changes that we are trying to make take longer than a month or so. Changing your nervous systems, retraining your brain, and re-conditioning your tissues are all worthy goals, so stay with it!
This week you will be learning more about how your thoughts and feelings influence your pain. You will be practicing to build strength and awareness in the thoracic spine, this can really make a big difference in the way you move and how you feel. Improving interoception is an evidence based strategy toward reducing pain, so even though some of these exercises, breathing practices and meditations don’t feel like much, know that they are making a big impact.
