Week Five Practice: Thoracic Strength

I LOVE this practice

You’ve done some hard work over the last month to build objective awareness of your neck and shoulders. You’ve also really calmed things down so it’s not quite so uncomfortable to move. Now we get to build things back up. We know that tissues get deconditioned when we’ve been in pain for awhile. This practice is desiged to help you recondition your thoracic spine as well as maintain calmness and support interoception.

For me, strength work is pain relief. We naturally shy away from resistance when we are feeling vulnerable and in pain. But I have found over the years that body weight resistance and even resistance training with weights can get me on track when pain is flaring. I hope you get some relief with this practice as well.
