Will all of this resistance training make me less flexible?
Research shows that the answer is no. A recent study tracked flexibility for three groups over a period of time. Each group was given a specific training protocol.
- A: Static stretching only
- B: Static Stretching + Resistance training
- C: Resistance Training Only
Guess which group improved flexibility the least? Group A, the static stretching only group! The research showed that the best way to improve flexibility and strength (otherwise known as mobility) is a combo of movements.
Single Leg RDL (Romanian Deadlift)
Balance… So important but so stinking hard! You can improve your balance by improving your strength. This exercise really works the glutes and hamstrings. Try to keep your hips square and your back leg extended powerfully.
Sets: Three
Reps: 10-20 on each leg
